Vatican City, a city-state in the center of Rome, Italy, is the heart of the Roman Catholic Church

And is home to a collection of extraordinary works of art and architecture as well as being the seat of the Pope. In the Vatican Museums there are ancient Roman sculptures such as the famous Laocoon Group, as well as the Renaissance frescoes of the Raphael Rooms and the Sistine Chapel, famous for Michelangelo's frescoes.
